Description:

This little insect was about 4 mm long. Its paddle-shaped wings were tented, velvety and a deep blue. The wing veins appeared prominent and the basal areas of the wings were yellow. Antennae were short and eyes with pale rims, were well separated. The thorax might have had a pattern with yellow colouring. Legs and the underside appeared pale. Small white ovoid shapes (pic 4) were seen on the leaf where the insect was resting.

Habitat:

Spotted on Acacia.

I appreciate Stephen Thorpe's identification of it as whitefly. My thanks go to Peter S.Gillespie for the correct ID. It is not a citrus whitefly. family: Aleyrodidae
