Mushroom

Description:

Mushroom

Habitat:

My yard growing amongst front plantings and in the mulch

Notes:

Emerges from the ground as an slimy egg and smells horrible! You can smell it from about 8 feet away. the slime goes away as it grows and the more offensive odor does too. At the photo stage it is dry and the smell is strong and musty

Thank you for the id! My family and I have been most interested in this bizarre, smelly mushroom! It's nice to finally have a name for it!
