Congratulations philkahler! Your spotting is featured in Project Noah's Fact of the Day: "This scaly-breasted woodpecker is from the tropical and sub-tropical lowland forests of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Peru, and Venezuela. It is a widespread and fairly abundant species now, but is expected to decline as deforestation takes its habitat".
