Red Eyed Crocodile Skink (Juvenile)

Tribolonotus gracilis

Description:

A juvenile of the red eyed crocodile skink. These guys are so cool, for sure in my top favorite lizards. The juveniles have yellow heads, and later develop their all black coloration with the red markings around their eyes as they reach adulthood. Crocodile skinks are popular in the pet trade and look like adorable little dragons. They practice a behavior known as "freezing" where they lock up around predators.

Habitat:

These awesome skinks are from the rainforests of New Guinea.
