Panamic Cushion Sea Star

Description:

Dark brown starfish with red spots about 5-inches from center to tip of arms.

Habitat:

Near Shore tropical waters; sand bottom to seaward of coral reef.

Notes:

Spotted about 90 feet deep off of Nanakuli, Oahu. Original medium photoprint taken with 35mm SLR in Ikelite housing using flash; print later scanned and image saved as digital file.

I agree; it does have that look! Too bad it's a bit over exposed. I never was good at guessing the settings for my manual flash; the idiotproof automatic ones with built-in sensors do a much better job.
