Red eyes and face, brown thorax, red abdomen, and red pterostigma near all four wingtips. Body is approximately 1.5 - 2" in length. Astounding to see dragonflies so late in the year -- completely unexpected! Even more astounding when this dragonfly landed on my shoe and perched there for several minutes!!!
