I agree with StirredMocha. Similar Chlosyne janais has two cell spots on each forewing. Chlosyne l. lacinia has one or zero according to the book I have (A Swift Guide to the Butterflies of Mexico and Central America).

One of the patches (Chlosyne sp.). Not sure which one but I think perhaps bordered (C. lacinia), which is the most variable species.
