Boat-tailed Grackle (male)

This male boat-tailed grackle was spotted bathing in a small pond. Only the males are this iridescent black color. The female would have been brownish. These birds have beautifully shaped long tails (seen in the second picture).

The boat-tailed grackle is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act in the USA.
