Eastern Gray Squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Description:

Squirrel with gray to brownish fur, white underside, and bushy tail.

Habitat:

In the wild, found in dense woodlands. Near humans, in yards and parks. Generally prefer constructing their dens upon large tree branches and within the hollow trunks of trees.

Notes:

Gray Squirrel enjoying a treat in my backyard (peanut and seed on bread that I'd put out for the birds). I don't mind the squirrels sharing the bird food - I enjoy watching all the animals that frequent my backyard!
