mud wasp nest (with food)

Sceliphron formosum

Description:

A linear mud wasp nest with multiple chambers. Each chamber had a live larva and was stuffed with spiders and insects (food for larva).

Notes:

Found the wasp nest stuck to the underside of a chair cushion. The wasp had obviously built under the chair. Unfortunately it became dislodged while cleaning. http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_...

Wow so much going on in there. Looks like each chamber is a story in itself.
