There are a lot of Turkey Tail and False Turkey Tail in this area. Maybe these will mature into one of those type? I'll go back and check them when I look for Pleurotus to see what they grow into, if anything. Thanks for help.

maybe a member of the "xylariaceae" fam. ! Was it "jelly"--> [ dacrymycetales {basidiomycete}] or more "charcoal-like" --> [xylariaceae {ascomycete}] . try those names at google image and compare the pictures, if you lucky, you will find some similar looking fungi with a latin name as picture-name, with this name you can maybe research further. good luck.
