House Sparrows

Passer domesticus

Description:

The House Sparrow occurs naturally in most of Europe, the Mediterranean region, and much of Asia. Its intentional or accidental introductions to many regions, including parts of Australia, Africa, and the Americas, make it the most widely distributed wild bird. The House Sparrow is strongly associated with human habitations, and can live in urban or rural settings.

Habitat:

My back yard. Picture 2 and 3 have both males and females. Picture 1 is a male.

Notes:

These sparrows come to my feeder. I'm a "citizen scientist" for Project FeederWatch through Cornell Lab of Ornithology. http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/
