It's definately a "walking stick"-phasmatodea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phasmatodea...), because we had those at school and you could take one for home if you wanted to have it. But you'll have to find a right species of it for yourself.
For those who know little about phasmids have a look at some of their eggs....
