Description:

This is a bright orange caterpillar with tufts of long black hairs that develops into a Polka-Dot Wasp Moth (Syntomeida epilais).

Habitat:

It is native to the Caribbean but it's range extends from northern South America, through Central America into Mexico, and from many Caribbean islands into Florida and coastal regions of the southeastern United States.
