Description:

Brown butterfly with large eye spots on both the forewings and hindwings. There are orange bars on the front of the forewings. Light band across the forewing. Yellowing on the ends of the hindwing. This is the darkest brown colored butterfly of this species so far. The others have been a lighter and warmer colored brown.

Habitat:

Grassland and Chaparral mix. This species is found throughout the continental US, Mexico and eastern Canada
