scarlet waxy cap mushroom

L. prelates

Description:

SCARLET WAXY CAP MUSHROOM Kingdom-fungi(yes i am) Division-basidionycot Class-agaricomycetes Order-agaricales Family-hygrophoracece Genus-hygroeybe Species-L. perlatum

Habitat:

We were on a hunt to find mushrooms near the school(massabesic middle school.) We were going into the woods when i noticed a bunch of little orangish red mushrooms. We took a sample of two of them. Me and my friend took some time to look at it. We looked at the details and we took a look at wiki and mushroom expert. Mushroom expert has a dichotomous key that me identify my mushroom.

Notes:

The first mushroom i will write about Scarlet waxy cap. The cap was attached. The color of the cap when it was fresh was orangish red. The color of the cap when it was rotten was brown. The nearby trees are oak, beach and pine. It was dry when we opened it.
