Stinkhorn

Field Notes on Mushrooms My team has identified a mushroom and their common name is Stinkhorn. It was a warm and sunny day at Massabesic Middle School and we are going outside to find mushrooms. The reason we are doing this is to identify the mushrooms we find. We found two Skinkhorn the one I’m talking about and Birch Polypore. We found both of these on the same day. The stinkhorn was found in dead leafs, stick pine needles. The soil was rocky with dirt. The cap color is black and stalk color is white. The stinkhorn has no gills and no spore print. It also has no collar and cap size(2cm). It had no odor and it was slimy. There was another stinkhorn right next to it and there was no trees.
