Eastern Tiger Salamander

Ambystoma tigrinum tigrinum

Description:

Large member of the mole salamander family. This particular specimen was a young adult and approximately 6 inches long. It was black with circular yellow spots on the dorsum, making it look a little like a spotted salamander.

Habitat:

Found on a wet, rainy rural road.

Notes:
