Coral Fungus

Description:

Some of the dead leaves around this specimen look to be from beech trees. I don't know if there's a real chance at a positive ID for species of fungus, but would appreciate some help if there is. Thanks!

Habitat:

Most clavarioid fungi are saprotrophic with a terrestrial habit, growing in woodland leaf litter or in mossy grassland. A few grow on wood or on decaying herbaceous stems and fallen leaves.

Notes:

Spotted at Brasstown Bald in Georgia
