brown-necked raven

corvus ruficollis

Description:

This is the first decent sized bird I found on the island. It is pretty big and similar in size to the common raven (so much bigger than the ones I'm used to). It has a distinctive red neck and it is quite common throughout Boavista, usually scavenging food.

Habitat:

rocky desert
