Commelina communis
Reclining stems topped with deep blue flowers. The flowers had a shimmering purple hue as well. Flowers protrude from a heart-shaped leaf-like bract and are only open for one day. Sometimes called Mouse Flower because of the rounded, ear-like upper petals. Leaves are long with pointed tips.

An invasive plant in the US. Asiatic daylily has been used as medicine, for food, and for its pigment.
