Philippine Crocodile

Crocodylus mindorensis

Description:

Here you can see a crocodile "gaping" which how they cool off.

Habitat:

These are fresh water crocodiles said to be critically endangered. Initial population reduction was through commercial exploitation, although the current threat is mainly from removal of suitable habitat for agricultural purposes to satisfy a rapidly expanding human population.

Notes:

I am fortunate to see so many species that are very rare. I took this shot at Zoobic in Subic, Philippines.

Nice. Can you add the name of the facility where you took this spotting to, in this case, "habitat"? This looks like a good collection of the critically endangered Philippine crocodile.
