Jabiru or Black-necked Stork

Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus

Description:

Largest Australian wetland bird at around 1.4m tall. Wingspan is over 2m and it's beak is around 30cm. They form long term couples and build nests that can be up to 1m wide and 1.8m deep.

Notes:

The first picture is of a Jabiru in a wildlife park. The next two are in the wild in Kakadu, giving a good perspective of just how big the nests are.
