Spotted gum

Corymbia maculata

Description:

A large eucalyptus with smooth but often very mottled bark, a distinct scent of citrus, and smallish white flowers. This view is of the lower part of the trunk where it 'sags' like oversized skin into the earth.

Habitat:

Temperate worldwide.

Notes:

Couldn't resist this shot - like painted elephant skin. http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Corymbia+m...
