Shiny green beetle or bug spotted at Mossman Gorge, Queensland, Australia. Perhaps - Halmus chalybeus - http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_...
The upturned edge of the elytra of the ladybird beetle causes some doubt for me. I suspect a leaf beetle. The yellow legs and antennae seem to match. Brisbane insects has no match but this one is much further north. These ones sometimes trick the experts, so amateurs like us are totally confused.
Thanks argybee. It is cute isn't it.
I am trying to do a bit of a search for its name but I'm not sure yet. I think it might be a type of ladybird as it is similar in shape. Perhaps - http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_...
That's a sweet looking little beetle.
Have you tried to find it's name?
Might be a 'leaf beetle' or a type of ladybird.
