Monarch Butterfly

Description:

Mid stage: pale green, golden-spotted chrysalis Late stage: transparent, with butterfly’s dark body visible Eclosion: Wings are a deep orange with black borders and veins, and white spots along the edges.

Habitat:

Caterpillar fed on milkweed and then made its way to a cucumber plant to form the chrysalis. The pale green blended in with the plant and its surroundings.
