Green moray eel

Gymnothorax funebris

Description:

Green moray eel, approximately 6 feet long at Tormentos Reef (depth 50-60 feet). We left the first site and then we saw what might have been the same eel swimming near us. Previous divers have reporting that some moreys will swim near divers. I have also heard that some Dive Masters feed the morays.

Habitat:

Morays spend most of their time concealed inside crevices and alcoves.

Notes:

Photos taken by Frank Morrison.
