I found this info on distinguishing between the 2 species - The tell-tale difference between true and false Turkey Tails is found underneath the cap: Stereum ostrea lacks a pore surface, and therefore has a smooth underside. In other words, it is a crust fungus rather than a polypore.
I will post a photo of the underside of this. No obvious pores but the surface is ridged not smooth so I'm not sure that helps much!

Antonio, I always struggle with fungi identification!
Alex Konig & Clive are probably your best bets - I would be glad to help but there is a high probability I would get it wrong! :)

Karen,it look like a normal turkey tail to me,can you elp me to confirm if this two spots that i post today are false or real turkey tail's?thanks:-)
