Helmeted Squash Bug Nymph

Euthochtha galeator

Description:

Red and spiky all over: from head to abdomen. Has black and white bands on its legs.

Habitat:

Field

Notes:

I caught this little nymph in a grassy field. It's a neat-looking insect in the leaf-footed bug family, and I love all the spikes it has. Found at Barbara A. Beiser Field Station.
