Raccoon

Procyon lotor

Description:

This robust mammal can range from 8-20 pounds. A nocturnal feeder, its diet in the wild consists of fruits, berries, insects, fish, and amphibians.

Habitat:

Found throughout the state of Oklahoma, this individual resides within the confines of Camp Simpson.

Notes:

A year-round resident of Camp Simpson, these animals get abnormally large due to well-meaning campers feeding them. These raccoons are fully capable of opening ice chests, footlockers, and dumpsters in their search for an easy meal.
