Hickory Tussock Moth

lophocampa caryae

Description:

White and black wholly looking caterpillar. Someone there said they wreak havoc on nearby trees with the large web nests but not sure if this is true as it doesn't look the same as those to me.

Habitat:

It was inside walking along on a shelf at a house where a bride was getting ready for her wedding.

I'd say Eric is right on this one. The black spots match up.
