Description:

Tall, spindly shrub with characteristic flaky brown bark that is often covered with green lichens. New growth is red in color. Fruits are delicious if you can get to them before the birds do.

Habitat:

Moist, acidic soil in forestland. HB blueberry can be found in freshwater wetlands, often in transitional areas to upland.
