Adult carpet snakes can reach lengths of 1.5-2M in captivity. They have a life span between 20 - 30 years. The Carpet Python is a slender snake that is medium sized. It has a large head and long neck. It has lips with pits on it. This species of snake is known for its distinctive and impressive black and yellow markings. These markings can vary extensively. They can consist of freckles, stripes, bands, blotches or combinations of those. Colors can range from a lemon yellow color to a pale yellow, deep gold, or ivory.
