Wasp Moth

Amata sp.

Description:

Erebidae; Arctiinae; Syntomini; Amata sp. Moths of the tribe Syntomini are wasp mimics. Their wings which have translucent or semi-translucent "windows" make them fairly easy to recognise as members of that tribe, but identifying them further can be difficult.

Habitat:

Spotted on unidentified foliage at the side of a track leading into some rice fields.
