Spent its winter nights in a tree in the backyard of my family's house in the Chicago suburbs. I identified it by its call, which I heard nightly throughout the winter. This is the best picture I could get of it, as I never saw it there during the day.
Suburban development, in a highly populated area. Nature preserve a couple miles away.
