Gray Gull

Leucophaeus modestus

Description:

A gray gull at Segwick. These guys were in a massive enclosure with humboldt penguins and inca terns, but I didn't see any inca terns. Which is a shame. Gray gulls have a similar call to laughing gulls. Their breeding habits were a mystery for a long time, but we finally discovered they nest in the Atacama Desert in Chile.

Habitat:

Native to the Atlantic coast of Chile.
