Congratulations Paul, your Thekla's Lark is our Spotting of the Day:

"Its song is described as melodious with mournful whistles... this Thekla's lark (Galerida theklae) is our Spotting of the Day! Larks (family Alaudidae) are known for their elaborate calls, often including complex songs given in display flight. Thekla's lark is a sedentary species and is found on the Iberian Peninsula, in north Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa from Senegal to Somalia".
