Oxyopes javanus
Oxyopidae; Oxyopes javanus Thorell, 1887. This Lynx Spider is quite small, approximately 5 mm. body length, excluding the legs. So, it has some way to go before reaching full size, but I have seen one or two small ones like this, from time to time and I know that, even at this small size, it is a formidable ambush hunter. It is capable of capturing and killing prey much bigger than itself.
Spotted in our backyard on a Hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus) locally called Bataw. Plant identification - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Bataw
