Palthis angulalis

Description:

Not a common visitor to our area, but genus (palthis) somewhat can be found occasionally in north Texas. Was found flying around a black light. One very distinctive feature it had was to large front legs, which can be seen in this picture. https://www.flickr.com/photos/44691276@N...

Habitat:

Gardens,forested areas

Notes:

Usually they have a snout like structure on their head, but this one didn't, which probably meant it fell of some time while flying, most likely around the black light it was constantly hitting into.
