Description:

30mm hairy caterpillar; dorsal line of white spots within golden fur

Habitat:

On underside of acacia leaf within tall eucalyptus forest

Notes:

Also note two red parasite eggs towards left end.

A beautiful caterpillar....

This 'woolly bear' is probably an Anthela species. It's close to pupating if you are inclined to grow it out. The adult may look like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Anthel... (you may need to wait a day to see this). Better to not touch this one.
