Lycosa rabida
Tan wolf spider with 2 dark brown stripes running down the dorsal surface of cephalothorax. Abdomen shows a wide, dark longitudinal stripe bordered on either side by a lighter tan or peach colored stripe. Mature body length 2-4 cm. Individual in photographs is most likely female. The front pair of legs is generally black on males.
Wooded areas and open fields. Common in leaf litter and on low vegetation.
Once eggs hatch, the young will ride on female's back until big enough to fend for themselves.
