Cardellina canadensis
A beautiful, active warbler that nests in dense forests in Canada, the Northeast United States, and some areas of the Appalachians, overwintering in northern South America. They are some of the earliest warblers to migrate south during fall as well as the latest to arrive north in spring. The species is a rare vagrant to the West Coast during fall, usually with a few reports every year while in Europe, this bird has been recorded only twice.
Lovely male seen by many birders and me at the Sunnyvale Baylands test garden. One day wonder and life bird.
