Mourning Dove

Zenaida macroura

Notes:

Mourning doves are very common where I live, and they visit daily. They are ground feeders, and during the winter, I will have a group of 17-20 daily looking for snacks. When they are not feeding, the doves sit on tree branches around the yard. In the evening they fly out into the woods and are often spotted in the big thick pine trees.
