Red Fox

Vulpes vulpes

Description:

Red Fox, Vulpes vulpes, Grünenmatt, Emmental, Switzerland

Notes:

I spotted this fox during the afternoon. Missed it the first time, the second time, took the car and rushed to the nearby corn field. Got on my knees and hurried between the stems trying to avoid any noise. Got nearer and nearer. Went out of the field in the freshly mucked meadow (can you imagine how I smelled afterwards...?). Laid down and approach more and more, stopped at about 10 m, the fox as well, turned around and there was it: My very best wildlife shot! From eye to eye...

Thanks for the compliments, Pamsai. I immediatelyknew that there was something wrong with the eyes, but for the missing canine I had also to look twice ;-)...

Okay, I saw the evidence! Had to enlarge it quite a bit to see it, though. Great shots...

I've started a mission to see where people spot red foxes. I'm wondering whether they are mostly seen in nature preserves, or just anywhere. Would you please add it to this mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/9862...
Thanks.
