Eastern Yellow-billed Hornbill

Tockus flavirostris

Description:

This fellow was really funny. When I had taken several pictures of other birds he flew very close to mee (about 1,5 m) and moved towards me. It looked like as he was jealous as I was not taking pictures of him. When I finally took some pics of him he looked happy and moved around. Never had something like this before. szize about 55 cm

Habitat:

aqua terra zoo Vienna; in the wilde: Eastern Africa; Lives at tree and thornbush savanna or forest of acacia and mopane

Notes:

It resembles the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill, but has blackish (not pinkish) skin around the eyes. (Wikipedia) Former was called Northern Yellow-billed Hornbill.
