Turkey Tail

Trametes versicolor

Description:

A large mass of tightly packed carpophores sharing an old tree stump with mosses. Carpophores some 3 to 10 cm large, dark brown in the centre, brownish on edges and white-grey below.

Habitat:

Very common polypore around. Seen in winter time on a rotting tree stump in a natural reserve near Geneva (protected wetlands in Meyrin).
