A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Dipodomys spectabilis
Tan-brown body with white stomach. The long tail ends in a large tuft, giving it its name.
Found while walking around desert flats at the base of the Chiricuhua mountains. Saw these guys running all over the roads.

Yea, some other groups out looking for snakes said they found a few rattlesnake eating these guys. They were literally everywhere though, never seen so many rodents in my life!
I assume they are a big prey item! Poor cute little things!
