Description:

An orange and black butterfly in a group known as "Angelwings? The individual pictured is known as the "black form". The "orange form" is more uniform in color.

Habitat:

Feeds on hackberry, nettle, and elm.

Notes:

These butterflies are not found on flowers, but on rotting fruit and animal scat. They will also take nourishment from animal perspiration.
