Cyrioides vittigera
Black and yellow stripes with that hard shell like covering that beetles tend to have. Had long curly tongue similar to a butterfly. Hard to recall exact size but was around 5cm long
Bushland, tree bark
Spotted years ago and only one I've ever found. I have never been able to find an accurate match when searching the internet. The area it was found was newly built on land at the time, far less bushland in that area now than there was back then. Sorry for blurryness, photo was taken on an old phone. Edit: have now found an I.D on the beetle

Thank you for comments, those suggestions are certainly closer to what I've found in the past but still seeing a fair amount of a difference.
I wish I'd had a far better phone/camera at the time for an all-round better photo but also to have been able to photo the (assumingly) tongue. I strongly remember being weirded out by it being able to extend and retract something long downwards to the tree whilst it was walking along. Maybe was something to do with putting scent down(not sure bugs even do that) or putting eggs down instead and not realising i was looking at the rear end. Tongue seemed more likely to me based on direction it was walking though
hmm... that 'tongue' comment has me puzzled though (not beetlish at all)
Hey collyyo... yeah nah the photos are not likely to guarantee an ID but in my experience you might have found a jewel beetle especially with that pointy bum. Check out family Buprestidae for WA and genus Cyphogastra has a few dark ones with yellow lines... cheers.
