Northern birdsnake

Pseustes poecilonotus

Notes:

Unfortunately, this snake was found dead on the road. My Panamanian friend said locals typically kill snakes and throw them in the road. He's not sure why they do this, but he sees it quite a bit. Also known as "puffing snake."

Here in Papua, people do the same thing. Even with pythons. I can't count the number of times I've met a snake, dead, stretched across a road.
